Ok, now scenario 2, carried over from the last post. You got this great spacecraft script, so you attach it to a…. cube? Ok, you need a real spaceship to attach it to. So, how we gonna do this? I was looking at spaceship tutorials for blender awhile ago and stumbled across one that uses a ‘discombobulator’ script. So here’s how it works. One: make a low poly ship base to use the discombobulator script on. As seen below:
After that’s done, save your scene and go into Blender 2.49, no, I have not gone crazy, let me repeat this. Open blender 2.49, download it if you don’t have it. Open your model. Now, switch the buttons window at the bottom to the scripts window
Click the ‘scripts’ button, and go under Mesh –> Discombobulator
From here you will see a majority of options, I recommend playing around with these until you come up with something satisfactory. I think these are pretty good settings to use:
I’d love to see what you come up with! Feel free to drop me a comment!
Note: I have also made a Unity Webplayer of the spaceship so you can view it in realtime, use the arrow keys to move, and the scroll-wheel on your mouse to zoom. Enjoy! P.S: you may need to download the plugin to view it!
