About

First things first. Let’s start with the name. When started, we (okay, I probably shouldn’t say we, more like I, me being the manager, modeler, coder, designer, and the 1 man team) I started by doing stop-motions. If you don’t know what those are, it’s basically laboring over a small scene composed of LEGOยฎ men, clay, or other inanimate objects for an inordinate amount of time to come up with a very short animation, almost as inefficient as the time it takes to render something in, say, blender ๐Ÿ˜‰ the name is a combination of stop from stop-motion, and top-secret, yeah, kinda random, but it just stuck…

I first started using Blender awhile ago and through various tutorials and experimentation, found my way around. Wanting to give back after taking tips from all those tutorials, I now have a tutorial website!

I also do game-making in the free license of Unity, like probably many fellow unity users out there, I am still trying to actually FINISH a game! although I am also very familiar with unity and javascript as well.

This blog strives to become a great Unity and Blender tutorial hotspot while at the same time being a very clean site. Note: any questionable commenting is strongly discouraged!

Thanks for taking the time to visit and hope to see you around!

  1. I’ve never got a chance to ask you: Are you more of a coder or 3D artist? I mean, true this whole site is about your 3D work, and it is called “Stopsecret Design”, but you also know a lot about coding in JavaScript. Knowing both can be a very good thing when it comes to a job, but you have to like more than the other, or are better at one. So which one is it, 3D or code?

  2. Hey Stopsecret, perhaps we could talk sometime? I didn’t know you were still on the Internet–much less chasing Voxel cube games again. ๐Ÿ˜›

I finally made that blog I was talking about too. Just started a while back. We can get in touch through the contact form on my blog if you don’t want to release your contact details to the Internet (don’t :P).

      1. Yeah… I was actually gone all this afternoon so perhaps another time? Perhaps email would be better since we cannot exactly coordinate efficiently using blog comments on your About page. ๐Ÿ˜›

Otherwise, you can reach me on my blog’s contact form or PB’s website. I’ll keep checking the old Chatroll though.

  3. You changed your blog back? Why? I liked the big, bold. dark theme.

Didn’t you say you are entering college for website design, or am I mistaken? I can’t seem to find that post. Anyway, presuming that is right, I’ve started a new regular segment called Adventures in Website Design && Development, where I talk about website design/development tools, libraries, and cools sites I come across (full details in my “The future is bright for Triangle Land” post. I won’t link it so I don’t hit the spam filter. ๐Ÿ˜› ). I wanted to tell you about it as you might find or learn something interesting in it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

BTW, you still need a Contact page. ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. Yeah, the big bold dark theme was cool, but didn’t seem to have good support for different pages. If anyone professional came on, I wanted them to be able to see stuff besides my blog ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m actually in college to get a Bachelor’s in Computer Science (train myself in specific things but get a general degree in case I want to do other things), I’m bound to come across web design that at some point though. ๐Ÿ˜› You have any specific degree in mind?

      1. I see what you mean by that. Bachelor’s eh? How many years is that? I’m going for my Associate’s degree in Website Design (so it is two year), but there is Website Development classes (PHP, SQL) in the course. It’s the highest course the local technical college offers.
